Evere is one of the nineteen
municipalities located in the
Brussels-Capital Region of
Belgium. On
January 1 2006 the municipality had a total population of 33,462. The total area is 5.02
km² which gives a
population density of 6,668 inhabitants per km².
The headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (
NATO) are not located in Evere but in Haren (part of Brussels city).
Schaarbeek Cemetery, despite being named after the neighbouring municipality of
Schaarbeek, is in Evere.
